Till Schauder recently spoke with WDR Radio about WHEN GOD SLEEPS’s upcoming German theatrical run, which will officially begin on October 12. WHEN GOD SLEEPS will kick off its German Kino-Tour at the Cologne Film Festival, starting with a special preview screening on October 1 that will be followed by a Q&A with director Till Schauder, as well as a live concert by Shahin Najafi himself. There will be a second screening on October 2 (though Till and Shahin won’t be at this one), which you can still buy tickets for by going here. We hope to see you at one of these screenings, or on our Kino-Tour!

WHEN GOD SLEEPS will have its Canadian premiere at the Calgary International Film Festival as part of the Music on Screen Series! We’re excited to be sharing the film with our Canadian neighbors and hope that those in the Calgary area can join us for our September 29 or October 1 screenings. WHEN GOD SLEEPS is taking part in this year’s South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, alongside some of this year’s most powerful indie films. We’re excited to be taking the film to a number of southern locations, and to be a part of this incredible endeavor by the people at South Arts. Our upcoming screening in Winder, GA has been written about in a very nice piece in OnlineAthens, which also provides some background information on WGS’s production hurdles. WHEN GOD SLEEPS will screen at Filmfestival Kitzbühel on August 25th and 26th, 2017. We’re excited to have our Austrian premiere in the heart of the Alps, and hope that those of you in the region can come enjoy FFKB later this month! Tickets and details are available here.

WHEN GOD SLEEPS will have its Irish premiere at the Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival this Saturday, 5 August. Now in its 11th year, Guth Gafa showcases the most thought-provoking Irish and international documentaries of the year, and we’re proud to be a part of this event! The festival takes place in Kells, County Meath, and tickets can still be purchased online or at the box office at Headfort House. WHEN GOD SLEEPS had its German premiere on July 23 at the Munich Film Festival where it screened alongside some of the year’s most prominent international documentaries. The opening night screening was followed by a Q&A with director Till Schauder and a live acoustic performance by the film’s star, Shahin Najafi. We’re very excited to share that WHEN GOD SLEEPS has won the International DocFilmMusic Competition — the Golden Heynal Award — at the 57th Krakow Film Festival!
