Calling our neighbors to the north: WHEN GOD SLEEPS is screening at the Victoria Film Festival on February 11, so mark your calendars if you’re in the Victoria, BC area. Tickets and details are available here. This is the film’s first screening in Canada, so we’re especially looking forward to it. It’s about time we take this show to the Great White North!

We have another exciting premiere to announce, this time in Italy! WHEN GOD SLEEPS is playing at SEEYOUSOUND International Music Film Festival on January 28 and February 3. SEEYOUSOUND is the first music film festival in Italy and WGS will play in the “Long Play – Doc” category. Check out our festival page for screening times and tickets. WHEN GOD SLEEPS will screen at the Göteborg Film Festival starting this Friday, 26 January. Göteborg is the largest film festival in the Nordic countries and will be offering up a staggering selection of Swedish and international films at this year’s event. WHEN GOD SLEEPS is coming to The Bahamas! Join us in Nassau on January 25 for our Bahamian premiere at The Island House Film Festival. The festival will be hosted at The Island House, a gorgeous hotel and gathering space for both local and international artists. What better way to spend the winter?

We’re very excited to announce that WHEN GOD SLEEPS will have its US broadcast television premiere on this season of Independent Lens on PBS! Our film is scheduled to air on April 2, 2018, at 10:00 PM EST, but check your local PBS listings for any updates as we get closer to the broadcast date. This premiere is especially exciting because Sara Nodjoumi, producer of WHEN GOD SLEEPS, got her professional start at WNET (the PBS station for New York/New Jersey residents), so it looks like everything’s come full circle. This just in! WHEN GOD SLEEPS won the Jury Competition Award at the Sound Unseen Film Festival! We’re thrilled to receive this honor, and wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the folks at SU18 and to everyone who came to see the film in Minneapolis. It was great to share the film with such a passionate community of film and music lovers, so congratulations to Sound Unseen on yet another successful year. Next stop, IDFA in Amsterdam and many more festivals in Europe (and elsewhere) over the next several months. We look forward to bringing the film to even more viewers and hope to see you at one of our future screenings!

WHEN GOD SLEEPS will screen at the 2017 IDFA Film Festival in Amsterdam, The Netherlands! We will have four screenings: November 16, 22, 23 and 24. The screening on November 24 will be followed by a special live musical performance by Shahin Najafi, so you definitely don’t want to miss it! Minneapolis friends, WHEN GOD SLEEPS is screening at the Sound Unseen Film Festival on November 9th! This is Sound Unseen’s 18th annual “films-on-music” festival, and we’re proud to take part in this unique event that will include, “[d]ocumentaries, rare concert footage, short films, animation, music videos, special performances, gallery exhibitions and dozens of live music events highlighting both local and national acts”.
